These are separate, distinct treatments from the chiropractic treatments. These appointments focus on balancing body chemistry, analyzing organ reflexes, reviewing blood chemistries, salivary hormone profiles, other lab tests and making recommendations for specific nutritional supplements and< dietary changes. We address issues such as heartburn, "leaky gut", indigestion, dybiosis, poor liver detoxification, perimenpause/menopause, bone loss, vertigo, allergies, food sensitivities, fibromyalgia, arthritis, auto-immune, thyroid, eczema, fatigue and others. The appointments are 15, 30> or 45 minutes in length depending upon the number of problems, past medical history, length of time with these problems and the extend of your imbalances. Initially you may be seen once per week for a few weeks and then visits will be extended based upon your response. Some of these issues do require a few weeks to several months to help restore your biochemistry and health. These treatments are not covered by insurance. However, your flexible spending, medical savings or health savings account can reimburse you for the cost of the visits and nutritional supplements.
There are about 100 different types of arthritis . The most common form of arthritis is called osteoarthritis. This is considered the "wear and tear" type of arthritis and becomes more common as people age.It is estimated that 65-85% of people over age 65 suffer from osteoarthritis. The most common joints effected are the knees, hips, hands and spine.
Reducing the causes of the inflammation and providing the proper nutritional environment for repair of the cartilage is essential. In the journal, Clinical Biomechanics 1997, it was found that poor joint motion leads to increased joint cartilage damage/degeneration. Therefore, certain types of chiropractic manipulation and physical therapy can be beneficial for those with osteoarthritis. For further, information please refer to our newsletter section for June/July 2013 and is entitled Osteoarthritis. Read More

Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS)
Often we utilize interferential current (IFC) and sometimes other types of EMS. However, we find IFC is more comfortable, more effective and better tolerated by our patients. The purpose of IFC is to reduce inflammation, reduce pain and assist in normalizing muscle tone. The IFC feels like a deep tingling and there is no risk of shock.
These are high pulsed sound waves that occur above the level of normal human detection. The sound waves at our office are purposefully pulsed to avoid excessive heating of the tissues. The ultrasound helps to kinetically push swelling/inflammation out of the tissues and this allows a more rapid healing. Ultrasound helps a lot in arthritic conditions, various tendinitis problems and in the reduction of scar tissue/adhesions from both current and previous injuries.
Infrasonic Sound (Chi Gong)
This is an interesting device that was initially developed in China. The sound waves occur below the normal level of human hearing and run approximately from 4-14 Hertz. Scientists have found a remarkable ability of these sound waves to speed up healing of damaged tissues and ability to calm excessive nervous activity. This is the same frequency pattern associated with Chi-Gong healers in China. The sound waves also have a beneficial effect on the acupuncture system.
Most everyone is familiar with massage therapy and there are many different types of massage techniques. We primarily use deep tissue/myofascial massage and very light lymphatic massage techniques. Deep tissue massage is designed to decrease adhesions and "stickiness" of the soft tissues such as muscle fascia and tendons. It also helps by increasing flexibility, circulation, and decrease spasms of the muscular system.
Lymphatic massage is very light and designed to improve the flow of lymph fluid through the tissues, lymph channels, and lymph nodes. The massage techniques often help with decreasing muscle soreness, stiffness, and assist with bodily detoxification.
Massage therapy often times compliments chiropractic treatments and is offered at our clinic. All massage therapists are fully licensed and have graduated from recognized licensed massage schools.
This ancient form of healing has been around for approximately 3000 years and is often misunderstood. To date it has been found that acupuncture stimulation is known to cause changes in nervous system response and can trigger different biochemical changes in the nervous system which can affect different aspects of body function. This is truly a high-tech advance therapy that has such widespread benefits to the human body. The primary effect of LLL is to expedite healing, reduction of pain and improve communication to damaged/dysfunctional nerves and fascia.
To date, scientists have found that these tiny packets of energy released by the laser, called photons, must have a specific wavelength and power in order to stimulate the cells. They have found that it increases enzymatic activity and more importantly increases the cellular energy packets called ATP (Adenosine triphosphate). It also has been found the LLL can uncoil scar/adhesive tissue, and can be used post-operatively to reduce pain and restore normal function and motion to the body. Currently, the LLL that we use is FDA approved for chronic neck/back pain, and carpal tunnel syndrome and soon may be approved to help other neurological problems and degenerative neurological diseases.

In today's environment our bodies are constantly bombarded by a litany of chemicals and sometimes highly toxic chemicals in our environment. These contaminates can come from our water, air, food, microbes and can also pass through our skin upon contact. Many of these chemical toxins form bonds with many protein structures in our bodies both within our cells and between our cells. Many of these toxins can be found in our connective tissues or found in the intracellular matrix made up of hyaluronan gel, collagen fibers and glycosamineoglycans. Read More
